エチオピアのスタートアップの未来を担う皆さんとワークショップを行いました

2023年11月20日、JICAによるエチオピアでのスタートアップ育成研修（「スタートアップエコシステム能力強化（第2回）」）の一環として、功能聡子がワークショップを行いました。エチオピアから来日中のメンバーは、官公庁、教育機関、インパクトファンドと様々。ワークショップが進むにつれて、エチオピアにおけるスタートアップの課題や、参加者の皆さんの夢など、どんどん話が盛り上がり、とても刺激的なセッションになりました。

参加者の方々の感想です。

I learned more about impact investing in this session where we do not only look at financial returns but also the social improvements we have made to the given society. From this i plan to try to adopt this strategy in our own company to determine the overall impact it might have on the community rather than just financial returns.

Through the capacity development training program, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of social investment and its potential to support startups that are addressing social and environmental challenges. I have also learned about various social investment models, such as venture philanthropy, impact investing, and socially responsible investing. I intend to use this knowledge to enhance the support and resources available to social startups at my incubation center.
